Turtle pictures

I am so excited about meeting the little guy tomorrow. You'd think it was me getting a new turtle. :-D But I really can hardly wait for our road trip. In honor of the occasion, some of my favorite turtle pics from Flickr.

Yes, I know that the new little guy isn't a baby anymore. But turtle babies are just too adorable ... !!!

Ask not what you can do for Flickr ...

... ask what Flickr can do for you, apparently. o_O

So, I'm on Flickr now, as I posted about a while ago ... my photostream is here, if you want to take a look. 83 items and counting. I post my best pictures there ... the ones I think are best, anyway. :-) Obviously a lot of them are from Oslo. You gotta work with what you have. :-) One day a couple of weeks ago I got an email from someone on Flickr who wanted me - get this - to let them use one of my pictures in a theater programme in Leicester. I know, WTF, right? But apparently it was legit. It's some place called The Little Theatre, which was doing a production of Ibsen's Little Eyolf. This is the picture they wanted to use:

I do agree that it's pretty nice. :-) But I don't think it's all that ... I mean, honestly. I don't know that I'd include it in a theatrical programme. But to each their own, of course. I said that it was perfectly fine by me if they wanted to use it, as long as they credited me appropriately ... and if possible, it'd be great if they could send me a copy of the programme. I'm sorry, but I'm just a naturally suspicious person. Seeing is believing. The woman who was sending the emails was thrilled at my agreement and promised to send me a copy as soon as. I kind of forgot about the whole thing until I got home yesterday afternoon and checked my mailbox. Lookee!

That's the cover, and here's the inside page with my photo on it. They actually seriously used it. Weirdness!! o_O Click to enlarge if you want to take a closer look at it. My photo's the middle one on the left ... as you see. :-)

Oh, and I hit 1,000 views on my photostream yesterday. Yay. :-)

Keanupic of the week, testing

I tried posting this via Flickr. First time I tried that and, well, it didn't work. The post didn't look like I wanted it to. And of course I'm quite particular with unimportant things like that. :-) So ... test failed. Must edit. Should look right now. :-)

I lurve these photos. <3

I found this on Flickr (where I should be spending less time surfing, but there you go - quel surprise). From this photostream. Thanks to Sigh! for letting me post her artwork! :-) (Original is here.)

I'm on Flickr.

That's just what I needed - one more online community to spend my time on. ;-)

I couldn't help myself, though. The temptation was too great. I've used Photobucket exclusively up to now - so much so that I now need to get a paid upgrade to add anything more to my album. o_O I will definitely do that ... Photobucket is such a great place to store photos and I've become completely addicted to it after I started this blog. And I'll be happy to support them financially - considering how much I get out of their service it's only fair to pay it back a little. That's always something to consider, IMO.

But I do have friends who swear by Flickr (and at least one who didn't even know he was registered there ;-) so I decided to take a closer look at it. And it does seem to be a pretty good service. I love the photo sharing groups ... I've joined like 36 of them already. Mostly about turtles. ;-) It seems to be more about sharing than Photobucket, which - IMO at least - is mostly a storage place which you can also link to. That's how I'll be using the two, anyway ... dump everything at Photobucket (in ... ??) and share the best at Flickr. :-)

And in order to not get totally obsessed and waste enormous amounts of time on it I will be quite strict with myself when it comes to using the latter. I figured if I upload one or max two pictures per day I'll be staying within the free account limits. And will have time to write descriptions of each picture, and add them to groups, and, and ... :-D

I seriously have to stop myself so I don't go nuts with things like this. But you can see my Flickr photostream here, if you're interested. :-)
