Quote of the Week

First they came for the Communists
and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a Communist.
And then they came for the trade unionists

and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a trade unionist.
And then they came for the Jews

and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a Jew.
And then they came for me

and by that time there was no one left to speak up.
Reverend Martin Niemöller

This coming night - between November 9th and 10th - marks the 70th anniversary of the Kristallnacht.

Lest we forget ...

I have heard this before, and it is so true. We cannot forget what the German Nazis did, or we may be doomed to repeat it. You must learn from your mistakes if you want to avoid making the same ones again and again.
Excellent choice of quote!

What an appropriate quote for what is going on in the U.S. right now.

Yeah, I think this is important ... some people seem to think that fascism is a phenomenon in the past, something for historians to study. But I think it's something that is always lurking just below the surface. The US is at a real crossroads in its history right now.
