Spring flowers 2009, part 4

Another of the most long-awaited spring flowers in this country - Anemone nemorosa, the European wood anemone. Hvitveis or hvitsymre in Norwegian (hvit means white). They are so beautiful ... most especially since they always grow in groups, and can sometimes cover the forest floor in a whole carpet of white and green. :-) I live in the part of Oslo called the Grorud valley, and the soil here appears to be very favorable to this species. They are everywhere around here at this time of year.
