Dima Bilan: Lady Flame

I can't be said to be far wrong when I say that I have a really seriously shitty taste in music. According to established standards. Seriously: You may think that this whole ESC thing is just a gimmick for me and I blog about it for fun and I don't really actually like this stuff. The second point is of course true. But the third, alas, is not. I do like a lot of ESC songs and the compilations from the past few years are some of the CDs I listen to the most.

It's true. You may think I'm joking, but I'm not. I like listening to ESC songs. Obviously not all of them. But a disturbingly high number ...

So, obviously, knowing this about me, when I decide to post one of my favorite songs at the moment, you cannot be surprised to discover that it's a slick & packaged pop song from an Eastern European prettyboy 'singer'. I'm sorry, but ... I yam what I yam. This is Dima Bilan and his hit song Nevozmozhnoe vozmozhno. The English version's called Lady Flame (duh) ... the bottom video is the one with the English lyrics. Otherwise, they're identical. Pick your fave. ;-)

I know what you're thinking, but come on, give the guy a chance. He won the ESC, there's got to be something to him!? *cough* Seriously: Take a look at the video, it's pretty cool. It's not just the song I like, I think the video's fantastic. I luvz it. :-) My favorite moment is when he walks up alongside the morose suit with the briefcase and cheers him up no end (although if this had happened for real on a Moscow street and Dima hadn't been ... well, Dima ... I suspect the police might have become involved). Take a look, it's fun. I wouldn't say it if it wasn't so. :-)

Happy Easter!! Vacation, yay ... !! :-)

The eighties called, they want their mullet back.

Des, agree, the mullet died in the 80's let it rest in peace.
Also I noticed from the video he does not tip performers and robs flowers, what kind of message is this sending out to the youth, ;P
Happy holiday Madam

Oh, Hello Kitty ... !! :-D

Yeah, the hair is a bit ... *gag* ... But it's his style. Bizarrely enough. And it's the song that matters, anyway. I can't believe you're all so shallow!! :-o

As for what message he's trying to convey to today's youth - isn't it obvious? That the entertainment industry isn't all it's cracked up to be, and even if you're a super famous pop star you may still have to cut corners occasionally. Way to scare off the competition. :-D

"super famous pop star" where, Norway and Eastern Europe?. I never heard of him! ;P
Shallow, you called him the pretty boy first and then called him a 'singer', is there a question of him being a singer?
On the hair its a mullet, as worn only by dodgy 80's stars and rednecks(writes he with the dodgy curls)
;D
